Personal Development Overview
A key element of our school vision is to create harmony between academic achievement, personal growth and social development so that all pupils find their voice and fully engage in their education now and in the future. Our personal growth and social development curriculum consists of the areas shown below.
Intent
We recognise the importance of developing pupils’ good character - how to grow confidence, resilience and self-belief and how to cope when life doesn’t quite go as intended. Our Personal Development Programme has been designed to extend learning beyond the classroom and to complement other curriculum areas to ensure that our children have the best possible opportunities to develop themselves, their independence and their character, learn new skills, discover their brilliance and understand their contribution to a team. Our intention is to ensure every learner has opportunities to build essential life skills to support them now and in the future. Building these can support the emotional wellbeing and academic success of children and young people, as well as preparing them for life beyond school.
